How to Measure

Measure once. We'll do the rest.

Every Starry Loom curtain panel is cut and sewn after you order, so the size you enter is the size you get. Three measurements are all we need.

1. Measure your rod

Measure the width of your curtain rod from end to end, not the window. For a full, gathered look, order panels that add up to 1.5–2× the rod width. A 50-inch rod usually takes two 50-inch panels.

2. Measure the drop

Measure from the top of the rod (or from the ring clip, if you use rings) down to where you want the curtain to end:

  • Sill length — ½ inch above the window sill
  • Floor length — ½ inch above the floor (our most popular)
  • Puddle — add 2–4 inches for a soft break on the floor

3. Choose a header

  • Rod pocket — slides straight onto the rod; gathered, traditional
  • Back tab — hidden loops; neat, soft pleats
  • Grommet — metal rings; clean, modern folds, easy to slide
  • Pinch pleat — tailored, hand-finished pleats for rings or hooks

Rod pocket and back tab headers hang about 1 inch below the rod; grommets hang about 1½ inches below. We account for this when we cut.
